Public Hearing on Re-Adopting Fis 400, Fis 502.07, Fis 503.05, Fis 1104.07, Fis 1203.01

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department (NHFG) will hold a public hearing on re-adopting rules related to Fis 400, Fis 502.07, Fis 503.05, Fis 1104.07, and Fis 1203.01 on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at NHFG Headquarters, 11 Hazen Drive, Concord, NH. The hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m.
These rules are being re-adopted with the following amendments:
- Fis 402.08 “Possession and Use of Live Fish for Bait” is being amended to remove 2 species of fish from the list, add the word “Eastern” before 2 species names, and correct the scientific names of 2 species.
- Fis 405.07 “Hooks or Other Devices for Attachment of Bait” is being amended to remove an incorrect reference to another administrative rule.
- Fis 406.04 “Lake Trout and Salmon Waters” is being amended to explicitly state a daily bag limit for fish and remove a redundant provision.
- Fis 502.07 “Importation of Finfish for Bait” is being amended to remove 2 species of fish from the list and correct the common and scientific name of 1 species.
- Fis 503.05 “General Restrictions for Fishing Tournaments” is being amended to remove a section and clarify another.
- Fis 1104.07 “Importing Bait Fish” is being amended to enable changes to the form to align with the changes to Fis 502.07.
The following rules are being readopted without amendment in order to prevent expiration:
- Fis 402.12 “Marking Prohibited,” Fis 403.06 “Lake Whitefish,” Fis 408.18 “Round Whitefish,” and Fis 1203.01 “Free Fishing Day.”
The following expired rule sections are being readopted without amendment:
- Fis 408.17 “River Herring,” Fis 410.02 “Ice Fishing Restrictions,” Fis 410.03 “Open Water Restrictions,” Fis 410.05 “Salmon Falls River,” Fis 410.06 “Great East Lake,” and Fis 410.07 “Umbagog Lake.”
