Drawdown of Dickerman Pond Scheduled

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department (NHFG) will be making improvements to the pipe, valve, and trash rack in Dickerman Pond in New Hampton, NH, as part of the NHFG Inland Fisheries Division’s Hatchery Modernization Project. NHFG hatchery staff and managers of the dam will begin the drawdown on October 13, 2026. The contractor, MWH Construction, will then conduct their improvement work later in October and November. This effort will enable managers to safely maintain water levels during environmental and hatchery maintenance events.
As the guardian of the state’s fish, wildlife, and marine resources, NHFG works in partnership with the public to:
- Conserve, manage, and protect these resources and their habitats
- Inform and educate the public about these resources
- Provide the public with opportunities to use and appreciate these resources
